Different Facials for Different Skin Types

In order to maintain the youthful glow and blemish-free look that is so in vogue nowadays, one of the best methods to pamper your face is to get a well deserved facial. There are many different kinds of facial treatments available in the beauty and health markets today, but perhaps the most popular of these are ones that are all-natural and organic based.

There are a variety of different facials to suit every possible skin type or to remedy nearly any kind of skin problem. At its most basic, there are typically three skin types: oily skin; dry, flaky skin; and relatively normal skin.

For dry skin, what you’ll need is a moisturizing facial treatment that will re-hydrate your delicate skin and make it supple. Recipes that include moisturizing fruits like avocado and toning fruits like strawberries and mangoes all make for excellent spa treatments for those with dry skin. Mixing it with a little bit of moisturizing oils such as jojoba, coconut, or argan oil literally does wonders for those who wrestle with dry and irritated skin.Oftentimes, dry skin is caused by fungal infections, in which case an accompaniment of healing essential oils like tea tree oil or rosemary oil will not only help to stop the cause of dryness to the skin, but can help to clear any bacterial or fungal infections in your skin as well. Another great skin emollient is honey, which not only helps provide youthful glow to your skin, but it also helps postpone ageing and wrinkles from forming. For people are dealing with oily skin condition, will be best served using toning spa treatments based on acidic substances like lemons, limes, or apple cider vinegar, these can effectively help tone down your skin’s production of excess sebum. Because people with oily skin also tend to have a lot of dirt and other nasties stuck in their pores, a good exfoliation scrub with the use of bath salts or organic scrubbers such as oatmeal or hemp fibres will definitely help to clean the skin, and open up clogged pores. Once again, the use of essential oils such as tea tree, thyme, and the Indian gooseberry, also known as amla make for excellent astringents that help curve or reduce the excessive production of oil in the skin.

Normal skin is perhaps the easiest to treat with natural spa treatments, and people getting spa treatments have benefit greatly from cleansing, exfoliating, and toning of the skin. Even a little milk, oatmeal and honey facial treatment for both moisturizing and exfoliating is enough to make normal skin look its best. You can go overboard with certain essential oils though, so be careful if you’re doing a facial spa treatment at home. Be sure to test out the batch you make on a small area of your skin first, to ensure that you do not develop any allergic reactions. Certain essential oils and spa treatments like clays or minerals can easily cause an allergic reaction to people with extremely sensitive skin, so patch testing or researching about the ingredient prior to their use is strongly advised. Better yet, let the experts at the spa handle it for you, just to be safe!

Whatever your skin type and specific needs may be, there are sundry organic spa treatments for you to choose from in order to make your skin look its best. Don’t settle for anything that is heavily based or made of chemicals, as these can do literally more harm than good. So, when possible, choose the best for your skin – go organic!

We are officially launching the new site design after months of waiting. Alexandra has been working in the spa industry for over 20 years, and no one has taken the opportunity to help her establish a fair online presence.

In a world of internet marketing and savvy trends and beauty tips, it is easy to get lost in it all. At the end of the day, does the service or product you provide enrich people’s lives?

Since I met Alex over 8 years ago when I moved to the Bay Area from New York, I found her after seeing several esthetician (and dermatologists) that left my face red, damaged, or otherwise worse off than before and a few hundred dollars lighter in my wallet.

I’ve since come to expect the best from Alexandra. The 3 pillars of her service that keep her performing after 20 years, despite not having native fluency in English and computers, are as follows:

1) Advanced Skin Care Clinic (ASC) offers great pricing. Her facials are only $100, whereas most spas charge way more.

2) Her facials are done thoroughly – she never takes shortcuts and uses the best products

3) Her knowledge is extensive – calibrations between skin color, your diet, daily routine are all taken into account on an unconscious level

4) She only uses the best products, never skimping on cost

5) She doesn’t pass on the cost to her customers

6) Alex teaches you how to take care of your skin when she’s not around

Seriously, who else can top that in the Bay area, much less, anywhere in the world?

Time to get the site up!

-Vince
